Why Back Then

I started reading blogs a few years ago when I moved to rural Oregon.  It was nice to "connect" with someone across the country or across the globe.  Don't get me wrong... I wasn't actually making blogger friends, I just felt a type of kinship with these creative souls.  That was the upside.  The downside was that after blog-surfing, I was often left feeling jealous and/or inadequate.

Part of the reason I started this particular blog was to combat these negative bits.  Instead of thinking about all the cool stuff that others were doing (knitting, traveling, starting a business, etc.) and all the cool stuff that other people had (an incredible sense of style, self-made careers, the cutest little baby/toddler/whatever, etc.), I decided to focus on the stuff that I was doing and the stuff that I had.  This blog is where I do just that.

To those reading this, my hope is that you will harness the positive, disregard the negative,  and that you'll be intentional about giving more credit to the cool stuff that you do and have.

Thank you for reading.
