Although it's been warm and sunny during the day, the temperature has been drastically dropping overnight. Usually these dips would be cause to start a fire.
Our wood stove is so fresh and so clean, but in the process of getting shiny, we found out that something isn't properly aligned and we also received a strict "no burn" order from the chimney doc. It's actually a bit surprising that our house hasn't already caught fire from the inside out.
Good night fire.
I love having a fire, but the present arrangement was far below efficient and effectual so I'm not entirely sad to scrap what we have. You pretty much had to be right in front of the wood stove to be warmed by the fire. While currently in a state of mid-demo, I'm
fantasizing about a better situation.
On a side note, maybe when the giant cement box is removed from the center of our house, we'll be able to jack the floor joists back up a bit so that it doesn't continue to sag in the middle.
